Samhain: Pre-Festival Ritual

Samhain (sow-en) marks the descent towards the darkest nights of the year, and is a time when the liminal zone between the living and the dead is said to be at its thinnest.

Come down to Princess Bay, engage with the spirits and watch the end of summer go down in flames to live music.

Featuring Ērthe, an elemental effigy designed and built out of discarded materials by Luke Scott, with Leda Farrow and an army of helpers.

In the lead-up to the event, you can visit Ērthe down at the Pyramid, Massey University.

* This is an all-ages event; it will be dark and there is minimal infrastructure – children must be supervised.
