Winter Food Foraging

Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush
Sat 19 June, 10am - 12pm

Winter Food Foraging
Workshop.

You might think that food foraging is a summer pastime, however there's also plenty to find and eat in winter!

Professional forager Mike King takes you on a two hour walking tour around Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush. You’ll learn about edible native plants (of which Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush has New Zealand's most diverse collection), learn where to find them and sample different flavours, including Mike's very own speciality: foraged herb infused ice-cream!

After our walk we will gather in the Leonard Cockayne Centre to share notes, stories, discoveries and flavours.

Please note, it is not normally permitted to forage in Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush. We are fortunate to have been granted this one-off learning opportunity in this amazing space.

Tickets $50 (includes Mike’s native herb infused ice-cream and tasters).
